Step #1 – We Want to Listen to Your Story

Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 7 minutes (yes, that is the average doctors visit) before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”

Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive. They’re fast-paced, volume-based, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.

The first step is putting you through a 1-hour, thorough evaluation. This includes listening to your story what your past has looked like, what previous injuries you’ve had, what this pain is keeping you from doing, what you want to get back to, and what your goals are. The best thing that we can do is simply listen.

Then we get into our objective evaluation where we see how the body moves. We look at how your soft tissue moves, how your joints move independently but also as a system. The whole body is connected, and you have to work with professionals that view it in that way. You can’t simply look at the area of pain. We are not a symptom or diagnosis-based clinic. We are a “put the pieces of the puzzle together” practice and finally get you out of pain.

After working with lots of athletes, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain. And for those that say, “I’m not an athlete,” we believe that if you have a body, you are an athlete.


Step #2: Relieve the Pain Quickly

After our evaluation and movement screen are complete, we work to relieve the pain as quickly as possible but also start to attack the root cause of the pain and/or injury. We attack the limitations that we found and work to restore mobility as quickly as possible by using specific manual therapy techniques – things like dry needling and joint mobilizations. What we find is a 90 to 100% reduction in pain in just three to five visits.

By working to reduce the pain as quickly as possible through restoring the body’s natural movements, you not only get pain relief, but you also learn to move more efficiently. Once mobility is restored, we take the limitations in flexibility and strength that we found through our initial evaluation and we start to attack those head on, working in the new and improved movement patterns that you have established.

We don’t believe in putting band-aids on the pain. We formulate a plan that is 100% specific to you, and we attack.
