Is physical therapy and rehab right for you?

Are you an athlete that struggles with injuries to the shoulders, hips, back, or more?

Can’t achieve full mobility or sit in the bottom position of a squat without pain?

Are you frustrated that no matter how many Google searches and YouTube exercises you do, you can’t get rid of the pain?

Are you frustrated that treatments like massage therapy, chiropractic care, or even other physical therapy clinics, haven’t worked?

Are you having trouble keeping up with your activities and workouts or pushing through the pain?

Are you annoyed that the only thing your doctor, brother, mom, and dog says will help is if you “stop being so active?”

If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you’re like many people in Green Bay who suffer unnecessarily with injuries because they’re told:

  • Just “rest it” and it’ll be fine (then months later they’re still suffering…)
  • It’s “normal” to have shoulder, hip, or back pain when you’re an athlete.
  • It’s a rite of passage!
If you take some pills or throw on the latest and greatest knee support sleeves everything will be fine.
  • Rest, injections, or surgery are the only options for your pains.

The truth is, resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small temporary relief, but then when you get active again, you’ll still be suffering from those injuries you had before (I bet you’ve already experienced it!) It’s not normal to get shoulder, hip, or back pain as you increase weight! Simple fact of the matter is that pain pills are addicting, dangerous, and can cause a lot of other problems with your body. Prescription pain pills, injections and surgery are not the best options – they’re just the only option your physician/surgeon can offer you.

At MVMT Performance & Rehabilitation We Specialize in Helping Athletes and Active Adults Move Better and Recover from Injuries Faster, Keeping Them in The Activities They Love, Pain (And Medication) Free.

It can be very confusing to decide exactly what you should do if you experience an injury. You’ve likely heard a lot of options such as…

  • A family member tells you to give up being so active because it’s “bad for your body.”
  • A colleague mentions going to a massage therapist, chiropractor, or another “traditional-styled” physical therapist.
  • Dr. Google and the “experts” on YouTube recommend doing a certain exercise.
  • All while the doctor tells you to take this medication 5x/day for 8-weeks.

It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices…what will happen if you don’t make the right one? Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.

You must choose the right provider for your health. If you don’t, you could end up getting dangerous surgery (when it was unnecessary) or being dependent on addicting painkillers the rest of your life. Getting the “least-invasive,” most natural treatment is VITAL to you stopping your injuries and keeping them from ever coming back. To do that, you have to not just treat the pain, but have a provider who is willing to figure out WHY the pain happened in the first place. That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT solution to your problems.

At MVMT Performance & Rehabilitation we’ve created a simple three-step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.

Don't just take our word for it!

Haley, cosmetologist

I had my first appointment with Erica yesterday to help relieve TMJ pain I’ve been dealing with for the past year. Erica is extremely knowledgeable and took her time and explained everything she was doing! She went above and beyond and I will definitely be back!

Mason, professionally hockey athlete

I’m a professional hockey player who was struggling with some knee pain and had no structural damage identified after getting an MRI. Did some manual therapy with our trainer and some basic exercises but nothing seemed to work. Trevor works up by where I train so I reached out. He gave me some exercises that helped while I was away and when I came in he was able to take care of my specific issue. Really enjoyed the dry needling as it seemed to be very helpful with specific issues and releasing the tense in that area; haven’t had any pain since. Really happy with my experience and highly recommend it to all athletes.

Debbie testimonial, fitness athlete

Struggling with foot pain and plantar fasciitis. After just a few sessions Trevor has helped me tremendously, he is also helping me with balance and knee strength! Love my results so far, sometimes it’s just the little things that make a huge difference.

Our 3-step Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine process

Step One

We start with a thorough evaluation to determine the root cause of pain. We work with you to eliminate your pain as quickly as possible.

Step two, individualized plan

Step Two

You’ll get an individualized plan based on your diagnosis. We’ll start hands-on treatment and specific exercises to start attacking the problem.

Step three, back to activies

Step Three

Get back to the sports, workouts, and activities that you love! You will be equipped with the tools to take care of yourself for life!

Step #1 – We Want to Listen to Your Story

Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the doctors for 7 minutes (yes, that is the average doctors visit) before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”

Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive. They’re fast-paced, volume-based, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.

The first step is putting you through a 1-hour, thorough evaluation. This includes listening to your story what your past has looked like, what previous injuries you’ve had, what this pain is keeping you from doing, what you want to get back to, and what your goals are. The best thing that we can do is simply listen.

Then we get into our objective evaluation where we see how the body moves. We look at how your soft tissue moves, how your joints move independently but also as a system. The whole body is connected, and you have to work with professionals that view it in that way. You can’t simply look at the area of pain. We are not a symptom or diagnosis-based clinic. We are a “put the pieces of the puzzle together” practice and finally get you out of pain.

After working with lots of athletes, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain. And for those that say, “I’m not an athlete,” we believe that if you have a body, you are an athlete.

Step #2: Relieve the Pain Quickly

After our evaluation and movement screen are complete, we work to relieve the pain as quickly as possible but also start to attack the root cause of the pain and/or injury. We attack the limitations that we found and work to restore mobility as quickly as possible by using specific manual therapy techniques – things like dry needling and joint mobilizations. What we find is a 90 to 100% reduction in pain in just three to five visits.

By working to reduce the pain as quickly as possible through restoring the body’s natural movements, you not only get pain relief, but you also learn to move more efficiently. Once mobility is restored, we take the limitations in flexibility and strength that we found through our initial evaluation and we start to attack those head on, working in the new and improved movement patterns that you have established.

We don’t believe in putting band-aids on the pain. We formulate a plan that is 100% specific to you, and we attack. We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if performance physical therapy and sports medicine in Green Bay is right for you. That’s why we created a free 20-minute discovery visit. Yes! That means the first 20-minutes are ON US!

Our 20-minute discovery visits are meant specifically for those people who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the discovery visit you’ll find out what’s wrong, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!

Step #3 – Get Rid of The Pain & Keep It from Coming Back

This is when the big transformations occur. This is the point where your pain is now gone (usually after 3-5 visits). We strategically increase your activity level and make sure that you are getting back to the activities you love, all while fine tuning your mobility, stability, and strength.

This is when we usually hear, “I didn’t think I’d be able to do this again,” “My strength is really starting to increase,” or, “I’ve never been able to touch my toes before this.”

At step three, we make sure you are doing what you want to be doing, successfully building your activity level back up, improving your technique for good, and really ready to go and accomplish any activities you want. Our best clients are those who are motivated and ready to win back their active lifestyle (Even if they feel stuck right now!)

You don’t have to sacrifice your love of being active over problems that can be fixed. It’s time to invest in your health, take back control of your life, and get out of pain.
